Since graduating UC Santa Cruz in 2004 I have worked in various capacities at non-profits and health and human services agencies serving others.  I graduated with my MA in Counseling Psychology from John F. Kennedy University in 2011.  Following graduation, I worked in a variety of positions such as teaching anger management to domestic violence offenders in a psychoeducation program, working with children on the Autism Spectrum and with developmental orders, as well as serving families at Medi-Cal agencies.

Following licensure, I began seeing clients in private practice in 2015.  I see children, teens, families, and individual adults.  I work in large part with Autism Spectrum Disorder, ADHD, depression, anxiety, as well as individuals looking to learn to process developmental trauma.

I use different theories and techniques based on the clients needs but I frequently use both directive and non-direction play therapy, CBT, and DBT in sessions.  I’m trained in EMDR, a trauma modality.  Theoretically I subscribe to many of the tenants of Humanistic Psychology, which stresses positive regard and authenticity in the therapeutic relationship.  I believe in a biosocial model, which says mental health issues come from a combination of nature (biology) and nurture (our environments).  I also appreciate object relations theory that talks about how our attachment to our early caregivers plays out in our lives and is reflected internally.
