Social Skills Groups
Social skills groups are a way for children and teens to get together in a structured environment to learn basic skills in connecting with other and to process their feelings. Check below for upcoming social skills groups
Friends and Fun Club
The Friends and Fun Club is a social skills group for girls ages 9 to 12. Each group includes a topic and information on issues girls face everyday, like how to be a good friend, dealing with bullies, and handling peer pressure. All groups include a fun activity, game, or craft to reinforce the lesson taught. Girls are able to share their feelings and experiences in a safe environment while interacting with other girls.
Children who have difficulty reading social cues or who are inexperienced in functioning in their peer groups will benefit from this group. Girls who are chronically bullied or show bullying behaviors will also benefit from this group.
This group is a great opportunity for girls who will soon be starting Jr. High and are having worries and anxieties over that experience.
This is a 6 week group with the opportunity to sign up for additional 6 weeks at the end of the group. Sign up includes a free discovery/intake session with parents or caregivers and a phone consultation with parents or caregivers approximately half way through.
